Etched glass is where acid is used to burn a picture or shape into glass. For instance, you have probably seen front doors on the higher-end homes in Florida that have pictures of birds, palm trees or dolphins etched.
Frosted glass is created by taking a clear glass product such as glass for window, mirror, stairway rail or shelf and sandblasting the glass or etching the glass with acid or other caustic substances to create glass that diffuses light. This creates a translucent effect.
We recommend using frosted glass any place where you want glass that allows the passage of light and yet offers privacy. We can frost the glass very lightly or heavily depending on the amount of privacy you desire. We recommend using frosted glass for shower walls, front doors, transoms, sidelights, table-tops, accent lighting, shelves and wall partitions.
