Unlicensed Businesses
Often people make the mistake of thinking that working with an unlicensed contractor will be cheaper. After all, they offer cheaper prices. Unfortunately there is a difference between fiction and reality. What most of them are offering is the fiction that they can finish the job, do a great job, use quality materials and warranty their work. The reason this is fiction is that some of these people are arrested before they can finish your project. Others go out of business and can't cover your warranty. Many of them move from city to city. Often, they promise quality materials and deliver something else. More often than you would believe we get calls to go in and rip out a shower, windows, etc... that were installed by an unlicensed contractor because the work "fell apart". Not only did the homeowner spend money on the first installation. But now they have to pay to have it removed and then replaced. Don't pay twice; use a licensed contractor. |
