Are you unhappy with your windows? Tired of cleaning the same spots over and over again only to find smudges? The problem is not you or the amount of elbow grease you have been using. It could be the materials you are using to clean the glass.
A squeegee is the easiest tool to clean large surfaces.
If glass is really dirty, such as when you are cleaning glass on outside windows after rainy season ends you might try pouring liquid detergent into a bucket of warm water and using a sponge to scrub the whole window. Then use the squeegee and remove the excess detergent and water by cleaning
it off with an old towel.
Thinking of using paper towels to clean your windows and glass? May we suggest using a coffee filter or newspaper instead? The reason being that many brands of paper towels leave a filmy residue on the glass that can drive you crazy when trying to remove it and others can leave trails of lint that not only look bad on the glass but also add one more bad thing into the
air you are breathing in your home. On the other hand coffee filters and newspaper leave no residue and have very little, if any lint, so you only have to clean your windows once.
As for cleaning solutions, if the store-bought ones bother your breathing, you can always substitute vinegar mixed with water.
As for scratches in glass, try rubbing a little toothpaste on the glass to heal the scratches. |
